I really appreciate everyone kind thoughts and prayers. It has meant a great deal to me. Every day gets a little easier. When I look at her pictures, though, I still think about what a beautiful strong dog she was...and how fast she went.

I love animal lovers. I'm toasting you all now! Cheryl

Wow, I just read this and cried and cried.

Even though it's been one say shy of a week since she's been gone, I thought I had gotten "used" to her being gone. And, now....gosh...seeing her cute face in that picture, I feel like someone just kicked me in the gut.

Somehow I feel just a tad guilty for not visiting Jasmine when I had the chance.

I've saved her picture to my desktop so Jazzville is there to see anytime I want, as much as I want, as long as I want.

After reading this I feel even more like Jasmine was everyone's dog. What a lovely and loving community.

Cheryl:

I am so sorry to hear about Jasmine! I understand your grief and pain of loosing a family member, as I had to put my Jasmine to sleep in June. She was a beautiful black lab/german shorthair mix that supported me through some very tough years. Time will make your pain and grief less sevre but she will always be close to your heart. Below is a peom that helped me get through the pain:

The Rainbow Bridge Poem
Inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

My thoughts and prayes are with you!

Dear Cheryl,

I have a Bordeaux named Jasmine who just turned 5 on Oct. 23rd. I gave her a huge hug as I thought of your dear Jasmine. I am so sorry for your loss. Though we've never met, dog lovers understand the pain. Sending prayers for strength and peace during this difficult time.

Best,

ml

Cheryl,
This is so touching. Thanks for sharing the support and kind words you received. Putting these vibrations of love and warmth back out to the universe is proof of the huge impact Jasmine had in this life. Though I don't know the pain of losing a pet, I will be thinking about you and the loss you'll feel coming home each evening without an excited Jasmine to walk with you and sit at your feet. Take care.
