Well hello Linda! So nice to hear from you. I hope to see you this Sunday for the picnic!

I loved reading your story. Maybe we'll both be inspired to lift weights in June! I'm going to do it whether I want to or not - and I'm thinking I'll want to. I'm really inspired to strengthen my body. My cardiovascular system is in good shape but the muscles are flabby. I've had enough of that!

See you on June 1 with Team Fitness? Hope so, Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

I just turned 60, and have been a vegetarian for many years. I started out slowly, eliminating red meat first, pork came next (used to love that bacon, but substituted turkey bacon), then it was out with the chicken and turkey. I eat walnuts, almonds, brocolli and swiss cheese for my protein. People have way too much protein in their diet. I am not on any medications, walk every day (I was a marathon runner in my 30's), and have lead a yogic lifestyle since my 20's. Fitness is a passion of mine, and like you, the weight training is the one part of it I do not like...so I don't do it. Hopefully the years of running and now walking will hold up my bones. Laughter is the best medicine I have found! Enjoying the journey while reading your blog. I see you at UCOL occasionally.
